"Come in from the Cold"winter programming partnership with the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library. Gather in the comfort of the library's warm meeting room interior as Ranger Bob Flippen presents a PowerPoint presentation-"Willis Vail; An engineer with a Camera". In 2011, rescues from obscurity on e-bay, were a series of glass negatives of photographs, detailing the construction of the steel bridge and taken by the resident engineer, Willis Vail, in 1913-1914. See these now iconic images and learn what it took to erect the steel viaduct in just 15 months.
