.High Bridge Trail State Park invites you to attend "Come in from the Cold" winter programming partnership with Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library. Gather in the warmth amd comfort of the meeting place of the library's interior as Ranger Bob Flippen presents a PowerPoint presentation-"The Vegabond in Farmville, Virginia". In 1875, a mysterious Englishman named John Stanley James settled in Farmville with a group of Englishmen intent on colonizing Southside Virginia. After just 6 months he left in disgrace only to re-emerge in Australia where he changed his name to Julian Thomas and wrote for the Argus newspaper under the pseudonym "The Vagabond."
