Event Description:
The VA Scholastic Chess Championships are held every year, in early-to-mid March at various locations around the state. This year, the event will be held at Longwood University. Players in the event come from across The Commonwealth, competing for Trophies and awards, as well as, the title of VA State Champion.  Championships are awarded to individual players and teams in three grade groups: Kindergarten-3rd Grade, 4th-5th Grade, 6th-8th Grade, High School, and College.

Campus of Longwood University, Farmville, VA
Date/Time Information:
Speed Chess Tournament on Friday night, March 8th at 6:30PM. The main tournament is Saturday through Sunday, beginning at 9AM both days.

Fees/Admission:
Entry fee is usually about $30 for advance registration, $15 to play in the speed chess tournament. All players must be members of the U.S. Chess Federation, memberships are available online or at the tournament.
