During this 3-hour program, foresters from Virginia Cooperative Extension and the Virginia Department of Forestry will discuss: ? Concepts of sustainable woodland management ? What woodland certification is ? Pros and cons of certification ? Certification programs in Virginia: ? American Tree Farm System ? Forest Stewardship Council ? Sustainable Forestry Initiative ? How to start the process of certification ? Results from a recent landowner survey regarding woodland certification Ample time will be available for discussion and questions. A full dinner will be provided.
